Teachers, pupils create awareness on Rakhi

Parigi: Teachers of Saraswathi Shishu Mandir School visited Rukkumpalli and Naskal villages to create awareness on celebrating 'Rakhi Pournami', on Monday. Women, children and youth participated in large numbers.

Sarpanch of Rukkumpalli Royyala Srinivas explained the importance of Rakhi festival by quoting extensively from the Hindu epics and scriptures. In Naskal, mandal president of farmers' coordination committee Pothula Rajender described the festival from a historical perspective.

Headmaster Mallesham said the celebration was not just confined to brothers and sisters but also for among brothers and families.
