Choutuppal (Yadadri-Bhongir): As part of Green India Challenge, noted Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn along with Rajya Sabha Member Joginapally Santosh Kumar planted saplings at Haritha Industrial Park in Dandu Malkapur of Choutuppal mandal on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Santosh Kumar said that film actor Ajay Devgn promised to carry forward Green Challenge programme through his NV foundation. Telangana Federation of Industries president Sudhir Reddy had promised to transform the Park into a green industrial park, he added. Santosh assured of protecting every sapling planted in this park along with his associates and will monitor the status of plants by visiting frequently.

Normally any challenge comes to a closure after a few days, but the Green India Challenge is going ahead uninterruptedly for the past three years, the MP stated. He informed that celebrities from all walks of life, including Lok Sabha Speaker took part in this challenge and planted saplings to inspire people. Santosh Kumar thanked everyone for extending their cooperation to make the Green India Challenge a grand success. Guests were welcomed with Bathukamma and oggu artistes, thus reflecting the culture and traditions of the State and to create a festive atmosphere in the industrial park.

As a part of the programme, as many as 5,000 saplings were planted in the park. TSIIC chairman

Balamallu, Telangana Industrial Federation president Sudhir Reddy, former MLC K Prabhakar,

former MLA Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy and others participated in the programme.
