Telangana High Court backs Ramulu Naik, Yadava Reddy disqualification

The Telangana High Court on Wednesday backed the legislative council chairman's decision of disqualifying MLCs Ramulu Naik and Yadava Reddy who defected to Congress party from TRS before elections.

Following their disqualification, Ramulu Naik and Yadava Reddy approached High Court challenging the order against them.

The court which heard the case rubbished their arguments and dismissed the petition filed by them. It also clarified that the notices issued against them by the legislative council were not against the law.

Meanwhile, the two MLCs asked the court to delay the elections until they approach the Supreme Court on the matter. However, the court directed the election commission to look into the matter.
