Kothagudem: Those who are going to enter the wedlock can give a spiritual touch to their wedding as the authorities at Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple are planning to dispatch Mutyala Talambralu, used during the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and his consort Sita, to the devotees.

To receive the Talambralu, the parents of those who got newly-married or getting to tie the knot soon have to send the wedding invitation to the Devasthanam by post. Upon receiving the wedding card, the temple authorities will dispatch the sacred Talambralu to the address given.

"We intend to commence this programme this month or the next. We are in the process of looking for an auspicious day, and in consultation with the temple priests, we will start the programme," informed the temple Executive Officer T Ramesh Babu on Wednesday.

The Talambralu would be given free of cost. However, the devotees have to pay nominal charges towards the postal expenses, he said, adding that this initiative would surely attract the devotees as Talambralu used during the celestial wedding were considered very sacred.

Referring to the arrangements for the celestial wedding on Srirama Navami, the EO informed over 150 quintals of rice and 100 kilograms of pearls are used for the preparation of Talambralu this time.
