Miryalguda (Nalgonda): GENCO chairman Prabhakar Rao on Thursday stated that the government's prestigious project Yadadri power plant will be completed within four years.

Prabhakar Rao was addressing the media persons after inspecting the ongoing works of Yadadri power plant at Veerlapalem village of Damarcherla mandal in the district.

He conducted a review meeting with officials after examining the ongoing works of various units of plant and canteen. He informed that the power plant's estimated cost is Rs 29,000 crore and two units of the power plant would be commissioned within two years and the remaining three units would be finished in phased manner.

Stating that all hurdles with regard to the power plant were overcome successfully, he said that works of the power plant were delayed due to delay in supply of equipment and rains.

He exuded confidence that total works of power plant would be finished by year 2024 at any cost. He further added that after learning lessons from Manugur power plant, works of Yadadri power plant were started after getting all permissions of respective departments. The railway track works are going on and would be completed within three years time.

He further added that the compensation to oustees of Yadadri power plant was deposited in the district Collector's bank account and the district administration would look after the matters pertaining to payment of compensation to the oustees.

Stating that the family members of 540 oustees will get jobs in the power plant provided they must have ITI qualification, he said that they would be trained as per the requirement similar to Badradri power plant.

He informed that the power plant can provide employment to 4000 persons which includes engineers and other staff.
