Chittoor: Deputy Chief Minister and Excise Minister K Narayayana Swamy, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and others handed over a cheque for Rs 50 lakh to the family of martyred soldier C Prasanna Kumar Reddy at Reddivaripalle village in Irala mandal in the district on Sunday.

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy announced the ex gratia to the family of the jawan, who died in exchange of fire with Pakistan soldiers recently.

Narayanaswamy told the media that Prasanna Kumar Reddy had made a supreme sacrifice while foiling the infiltration bid by terrorists in Jammu & Kashmir on November 8.

He assured that the State government would take care of the future of Prasanna Kumar Reddy's family members in all aspects.
