Ongole: The contract and outsourcing employees working in various departments like Ayush, education, medical and health, social welfare and others met the district collector on the special grievance day on Friday and requested to provide equal pay for equal work.
Mallela Aruna, Seelam Saraswathi, Kolla Leela and others from the Ayush department said that they are working in the hospitals and PHCs from 2008 under the National Rural Health Mission.
Though they are working for the past 10 years, they said that the compounders are getting Rs 10,000 and SCSOs are getting Rs 7,000 per month as salary. They said that their salaries are being paid late occasionally and requested the collector to implement time scale and provide equal pay for equal work considering the present costs of living.
Special collector Chandramouli, special sub collector Srinu Naik, social welfare DD Lakshmi Sudha also present while the employees submitted their representations.
