Guntur: Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharitha said she is fortunate to visit Omkara Kshetram in the auspicious Karthika Masam and performed puja to Lord Siva.

She visited the temple on the occasion of Visakha Sarada Peetham seer Swaroopananda Saraswati birthday celebrations. The temple priests welcomed her with Purna Kumbham. Later, she performed pujas to Lord Siva. The temple authorities offered silk robes to Sucharitha.

Later, she participated in the Visakha Sarada Peetham seer Sri Swaroopanandendra Saraswati birthday celebrations held at Sri Shirdi Sai Andhula School at Brodipet here on Tuesday. The programme was held under the aegis of AP Brahmana Seva Sangh Samakhya president Satyawada Durga Prasad and its general secretary Konuru Satish Sarma.

Later, Sucharitha distributed cake to the blind students. Konuru Satish Sarma said TDP leaders are unnecessarily politicising the Swamiji's birthday celebrations.

Brahmin leaders Dhulipala Srinivas, Ikkurthi Venkat, Mannepalli Hanumanthu Sarma, Madhya Vimochana Prachara Committee chairman V Lakshmana Reddy were among those participated in the programme.
