The engineering authorities of the Railway department have granted permission for trains to travel at a speed of over 100 km per hour on the Guntur-Tenali route. Earlier, the trains are allowed to go at a rate of up to 70 kilometres per hour on the newly built track since April last year.

Afterwards, engineering department officials took measures in a step-by-step manner to make the track strong to sustain high speed. Similarly, trains have been experimentally observed to run faster. The speed was allowed to increase after the path had been cleared. This paved the way for trains to run more quickly on the route, which will reduce travel time.
