Amaravati: The BJP staged a statewide protest against the State government for a change in the tariff system of electricity bills, which led to an additional burden on the consumers, on Tuesday. The BJP also demanded the State government withdraw the proposal of selling government properties for implementation of the Navaratnalu welfare schemes.

The party AP president Kanna Lakshminarayana criticised that from day one onwards after taking the government, the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was harassing the people on various issues. On the occasion of this protest, he observed that when the common men were facing financial problems during coronavirus lockdown, the Government changed the slabs system, which forced them into further troubles. Even though the government claimed that they did not change slab rates, the criteria changed and hence the consumer forced to pay higher tariffs.

On the other hand, the government also put public properties for sale. The Market place in Guntur, which is located at the heart of the city also put for the sale by the Chief Minister, which is not at all acceptable, maintained Kanna.

He also condemned the government's act of serving a notice to the old aged woman for her social media post in Guntur. Did he ask CM how many people will be arrested by the government like this?
