Tirupati: Even before the commencement of National Inter District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM), officials have been facing criticism in arranging food to players at SV University Stadium on Friday.

Officials have set up food court in SVU stadium, but majority of the players are representing from North India. Their habitual food is chapati or pulka whereas officials are supplying chapati to limited number to players. Majority of players are asking catering staff to serve two to three chapatis instead of rice , while staff are serving only one chapati to each person as per the instructions of civil supply officials.

Officials have planned to serve South Indian dishes to all the players in three days NIDJAM programme. Speaking to The Hans India, a North Indian player expressed his dissatisfaction over restriction on eating chapati or pulka. But, except a few lapses, authorities are succeeded in serving lunch to above 5,000 players and supporting staff in NIDJAM.
