The Supreme Court is conducting an inquiry into the boat accident at Kachchuluru in East Godavari district. The Supreme Court had issued notices to Central Government in this regard. The Supreme Court refused to give notices to the AP government as the boat was recovered. Former MP Harsha Kumar has filed a petition demanding guidelines on how to avoid the risk of boat accidents.
The Royal Vashishta boat went missing in the river Godavari on September 15 and as many as 73people travelled whereabout 47 bodies were retrieved.
The Dharmadi Satyam team of Balaji Marine company has extracted the boat couple of weeks ago after a much struggle.
