Tirupati: TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal presents silk vastrams to Sri Bhaktavatsala Perumal
As a traditional practice, TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal along with Addl EO AV Dharma Reddy, presented Silk Vastrams on behalf of TTD to Sri Bhaktavatsala Perumal (temple) of Tirunindravur in Tamil Nadu on Friday and offered prayers in this ancient Vaishnavaite temple.
Tirupati: As a traditional practice, TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal along with Addl EO AV Dharma Reddy, presented Silk Vastrams on behalf of TTD to Sri Bhaktavatsala Perumal (temple) of Tirunindravur in Tamil Nadu on Friday and offered prayers in this ancient Vaishnavaite temple.
This temple is one of the 108 Divyadesams dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped here as Sri Bhaktavatsala Perumal and His consort Lakshmi is referred to as "Ennai Petra Thayar".
The temple is believed to have been built by the Pallavas in 8th century AD, with later contributions from Cholas and Vijayanagar kings.
The annual Brahmotsavams are currently going on at this temple and the most famous religious fete Rathotsavam will take place on Saturday. Tirumala Pedda Jiyar Swami, Chinna Jiyar Swami, Seshadri Swami also participated along with TTD EO.
