Visakhapatnam: To incubate the entrepreneurial ideas among students GITAM Deemed to be University is planning to establish a Centre for Entrepreneurship, announced by the University Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivaramakrishna here on Thursday. While interacting with Tech Mahindra experts GITAM Vice-Chancellor briefed about the start-up culture in the university.

He said that the university is thinking about inculcating a culture of innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit on the campus through various activities and campaigns.

He mentioned that the university has launched FinTech Academy, BlockChain Technology, Business Analytics and others program to train the future technology experts. He informed that the university is closely associated with several industries like TCS, Dr Reddy's Lab, Larus Lab to train the human resource as per the industrial requirements. He hoped that the same relationship will continue with Tech Mahindra in future.

Tech Mahindra Innovations Global Head C Shreenivas informed that his organisation is focussing on to encourage young talents and planning to establish innovation centre in Visakhapatnam. He expressed that the city is the best location to start-ups and the universities like GITAM must utilise the opportunities. He said that Tech Mahindra will join hands with GITAM to encourage the young talents.

Tech Mahindra Local Centre Head Gowri Shankar, GITAM Registrar Prof KVGD Balaji, GITAM Institute of Management Prof.Gowtam Rao, Institute of Pharmacy Principal Prof.S.Ganapathi, GITAM Chief Technology Officer Gopala Krishna, GIMSR Medical College Principal Dr.M.Jaiprakash Babu, Vice-Principals Dr.Venkateswarlu, Dr.Rajagopal, Computer Science Engineering Department Head Prof.Tammi Reddy and others participated in the program.
