Since the desire for mobile phones increases, Karnataka now has a tele density of more than 100%. According to the recent Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) data, the Karnataka circle seems to have a tele density of 104.6 percent, and that is the seventh largest in the nation and far beyond the national average of 88.51 percent. The greatest teledensity is 279.5 percent in Delhi, whereas the lowest is 53.95 percent in Bihar. According to sources, this means that the State has a 100% tele density in comparison to its population. It indicates that many people have two or more SIM cards, resulting in 100% teledensity.

India's telephone subscriber base climbed from 1,202.57 million at the ending of June to 1,209.45 million at the ending of July, indicating a monthly growth rate of 0.57 percent. The number of urban phone subscribers climbed from 666.10 million at the end of June to 670.75 million at the end of July, while the number of rural phone subscribers rose from 536.47 million to 538.70 million in the same time period. However during month of July-21, monthly growth rates of urban and rural telephone subscribers were 0.70 percent and 0.42 percent.

In Karnataka, although, there has been a decrease in wireless customers compared to the preceding month. Other states (excluding Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, North East, Delhi, and Kolkata) have witnessed a gain in wireless customers, whereas the Karnataka circle has had a 1.6 percent drop in wireless subscribers. Karnataka that is approximately 49.60 million applications for transfer of service provider has acquired the highest quantity of requests for transfer of service provider in MNP to date.

There has been a significant increase in broadband customers in the country as Work from Home (WFH) and over-the-top television viewing continue to dominate the workforce. Meanwhile, dongle users have increased by 1.92 percent, while wired subscribers have increased by 2.09 percent.
