An ode to Mother Earth

"Akasha Nirtyam( Dancing in Space), dance video shot under the aegis of Laysam Creative Media reinforces the message – Save Mother Earth.

This is the time when earthly existence has equated with material things. Did we ever imagine the slipping away of the earth beneath our feet caused by no physical calamity? A deadly virus made social distancing become the new normalcy. We will return rejuvenated only to appreciate Mother Earth with renewed respect.

The theme by Lakshmi Babu from Maryland will feature Vidushi Sujata Mohapatra - Odissi

Anita Sharma – Sattriya, Pandit Gopal Prasad Dubey – Chhau, Prabal Gupta - Kathakali

Manjula Murthy – Mohiniyattam, Sovik Chakraborty- Kathak, Sinam Basu Singh & Sinam Monika Devi – Manipuri, Kasi Aysola – Bharatanatyam, Lakshmi Babu, Sriya Babu, Sneha Babu – Kuchipudi – dancers showcasing nine Indian classical dances. The dancers will be exploring the surreal space beyond us where there are no boundaries.

Lakshmi Babu is also the producer of the video and the visual director is Suresh. Dance scholar and critic Sunil Kothari will be launching the dance video on Saturday, June 20.
