The CP received salute from the police personnel on the occasion. Addressing the staff, he advised them to get inspiration from the sacrifices of the martyrs. He said the police were always the first to come to the mind of people in case of any loss or hardships.

"People feel that they will get justice by approaching the police and the police take pledge to protect people's assets, honour and lives. They do not even hesitate to make sacrifices in keeping their pledge. The department personnel should perform duties to reflect the people's trust," he observed. He recalled that many police martyrs had sacrificed their lives while encountering terrorists and performing law and order duties.

The Commissioner felicitated the family members of police constable Fahiuddin who died while performing duty in cooperative society, SI Hanmanth Reddy and PC Eshwar Rao. The CP handed over a cheque for Rs.1.5 lakh to the family of ARPC Anjayya of 2012 batch who died following an ailment. He also gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions organised to mark the day.

Among those present were Madhapur DCP Venkateswar Rao, Cyberbad Crimes DCP Rohini Priyadarshini, Cyberbad Traffic DCP S M Vijaykumar, Shamshabad DCP Prakash Reddy, Women and Children Safety Wing DCP Anasuya.
