Nampally: City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on Wednesday inaugurated a health camp at Hyderguda for police personnel in the city traffic police wing. This was organised in cooperation with Apollo Hospitals. The camp will be conducted for 25 days. All police personnel numbering around 2,450 are expected to undergo medical check-ups.
Addressing the gathering, Anil Kumar, Additional Commissioner (Traffic), said that the traffic police were always exposed to the air pollution, noise pollution and sometimes due to continuous duty they would not be able to take food on time. All these factors would lead to many medical problems. He asked all the traffic police personnel to utilise this medical camp and get their health checked up, so that if any health problem, it could be identified at the beginning stage itself and necessary medical treatment could be taken in time before it becomes serious.
Anjani Kumar appreciated Apollo management for associating with Hyderabad Traffic Police in conducting the medical camp. He congratulated the traffic police for performing effective bando bust duties without any qualms during the year. He also said that traffic duty was one of the most taxing duties, which was not performed by any other department.
Traffic policemen on duty cannot avoid inhaling carbon monoxide. As police get subjected to high stress and as timings of duty are unscheduled, it affects the biological clock and leads to many ailments which require regular medical health check-ups. He also advised the police personnel to have good habits and good disciplined life which is part of healthy life and also specified that the health of police personnel is important to the department, for the society and for their family.
On the first day, a batch of 100 traffic police officers underwent medical tests like complete blood profile, Lipid Profile, Liver Function Test, Pulmonary Function Test, ECG, Serum Creatinine, ENT Consultation, Ophthalmology tests etc.
L S Chowhan, DCP, Traffic-I, Subramanyam, Regional CEO, Apollo Hospitals, Additional DCPs, ACPs, Inspectors and Traffic Police personnel participated in this health camp.
