Vikarabad: Residents of Dongaenkepally village appealed to the Assistant Commissioner of Endowments to take over the encroached lands of Sri Sanjeeva Swamy temple.

The villager sarpanch J Ashok Reddy wrote a letter to the officer saying the 400-year- old temple has 84 acres of land in various villages of Parigi mandal. All these lands have been encroached upon by some people.

The historic temple is lying in a state of neglect and dilapidated condition and, also, no daily rituals are being performed there. The sarpanch requested the assistant commissioner to take over the temple's lands and auction them for the revenue, so that the old temple can be rejuvenated.
