Amjedullah Khan tweeted the matter to Union Minister for External Affairs, Dr Subramanian Jaishanker and the Indian High Commission in Republic of Zambia, and requested them to rescue Babu as soon as possible.

Chanti Babu, a resident of West Godavari, is stuck in Zambia and being allegedly tortured. He was sent as an operator of Truck Mounted Hydraulically Core Drill Rig, but was asked to repair machines which he doesn't know.

In a letter to Minister for External Affairs, Ganti Rani, wife of Babu informed that Makali Enterprises based him Zambia and managed by Indians arranged his single entry Visa. They also arranged travel ticket, other facilities with promise to pay $ 2,000 for two months for training their employees for operation of Truck Mounted Hydraulically Core Drill Rig services, as Babu is a professional drilling technician.

"My husband is a professional drilling technician. However, they are forcing him to undertake repairing mechanical works of one X AAEL Model ACDR-150, Truck Mounted Hydraulically Operated Core Drill Rig Drilling HQ series machine capacity of 150 meters, which he is unable to do. Upon which they unlawfully detained my husband under watch of large dogs and guards. His movements are restricted.

He is threatened with shooting should he try to run away. Further my husband is not getting used to local weather, is profusely bleeding from mouth and nose. He suffered several bodily injuries. He sent photographs and he is not proficient in English language as well," she lamented.

In the meantime, Babu managed to escape from clutches of Manoj Kumar P Patel and Mayankumar R Patel, who are running the company, with confirmed ticket to return India after check-in and immigration. "He was about to board a flight of Ethiopian Airlines on October 26 from Lusaka Airport. However, they somehow entered the airport and forcefully took him into custody. They also snatched away his passport and detained him," she added.
