Chanchalguda: A man who landed in Italy's prison in March this year and was later admitted to hospital for treatment for psychological problems was reunited with the family back home, following the active intervention of state and central governments. The youth was doing his Masters in the European nation. His father requested MBT leader Amjedullah Khan to take up the case.

According to Khan, Mohammed Ghouseuddin, a resident of Golconda, had a history of mental sickness for which he had been on medication since 2014. He completed engineering in Hyderabad and later went to Italy in October 2016 for doing Masters in Communication and Computer Networking Engineering from Politecnico di Torino College (Polytechnic University of Turin), a city in northern Italy. While studying, he also took up a part-time job to meet expenses.

On March 14, 2019 while he was working in a hotel he had an altercation and fight with some persons and was arrested by police and sent to jail. Seeing his mental sickness, he was admitted in a hospital.

"As his father is from very poor background, he could not go to Italy to help his son. Mohammed Abdul Rahman approached me to help his son," said Amjedullah Khan, the spokesman of MBT. Khan took up his case with late Sushma Swaraj, former Union Minister of External Affairs, and Minister K T Rama Rao, and requested both of them to help Ghouseuddin reach back home safely.

The NRI department, Government of Telangana, also moved the Union Ministry for External Affairs to help the student. The Indian embassy in Rome and the Indian consulate in Milan responded to the tweets of Khan and started providing legal help to Indian national. "After much persuasion, Ghouseuddin was released and was sent back to India along with a co-passenger.

His return tickets were also arranged by the Indian Consulate in Milan," informed Khan. On Sunday, both father and son reached MBT office and expressed their gratitude to Amjedullah Khan for taking up their issue with Ministry of External Affairs and the Government of Telangana and helping them.
