The State government has plans to give a fillip to tourism, Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Chairman Uppala Srinivas said.
Warangal: The State government has plans to give a fillip to tourism, Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Chairman Uppala Srinivas said. Speaking to the media persons at Haritha Hotel here on Friday, he said that the government is committed to turn Telangana into a tourism hub.
"Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been allocating adequate funds to provide proper facilities and infrastructure at various tourism spots to attract the tourists," he said. The TSTDC Chairman said that their focus is on all tourist spots in the State and developing them.
The work on Kaloji Kalakshetram coming up in Warangal, the Capital of Kakatiya dynasty, with an estimated cost of Rs 50 crore will be completed soon, Uppala Srinivas said. "In addition to the two suspension bridges in Laknavaram Lake, we are constructing the third one with an outlay of Rs 1 crore," he said. Development of Bogatha waterfalls in Mulugu district is also on with an outlay of Rs 12 crore, he added.
The Chairman said that he had discussed with the Urban Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu about the prospects of setting up race boating facility at Waddepally tank. He said that the government has plans to develop Vangara village, the native place of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao.
A plan is also on the anvil to develop Pandavulagutta by allocating Rs 2 crore, Uppala Srinivas said. Stating that the onus is on everyone to protect the heritage sites, he revealed plans to develop several historic sites in Parvathagiri mandal in Warangal Rural district.
