Date Set For India-China Military Dialogue Over Ladakh Impasse
Even as the tension between India and China over the Ladakh border issue has escalated, the two nations are engaged in diplomatic talks to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, China has increased the number of troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). While defence minister Rajnath Singh has admitted to being aware of the large presence of Chinese troops at the contentious border, he has reiterated that the border dispute will be resolved through military dialogue.
Army Chief MM Naravane is believed to have apprised Rajanth about the developments and also informed him that the date for military-level talks between the two countries had been set. June 6 has been set as the date for military dialogue between China and India. This, India hopes will end the Ladakh stalemate.
The last time the two nations were in a standoff was over Doklam in 2017 which lasted 73 days. Rajnath said he did not see any motive behind China's aggression amid the ongoing crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The defence minister refused to speculate over China's move in the Eastern Ladakh region that has led to military escalation over the last few weeks on both sides.
Rajnath also said that the Chinese too was looking at an amicable solution to the issue. Northern Army Commander Lt. Gen YK Joshi paid a visit to the Ladakh region to take stock of the situation amid growing tensions.
Now, that a date has been set for military dialogue between India and China, experts hope that it puts an end to the Ladakh deadlock.
