Priyanka Gandhi Vadra refutes debates about Rahul Gandhi's nationality, saying that the entire country knows that he is Indian

NEW DELHI: After BJP MP Subramanian Swamy quoted a British company's document to allege that Rahul Gandhi is a British national, the ministry of home affairs addressed a notice to Rahul, asking him to make his position on his nationality clear. In the letter, the ministry said that it has been brought to its notice that Rahul, in an annual return filed by company Backops Limited, has declared his nationality as British. Swamy's letter also mentioned that in the British company's annual returns filed on October 10, 2005, and October 31, 2006, Rahul's date of birth has been given as June 19, 1970, and had declared his nationality as British, the Home Ministry said. Rahul's response was called for by the ministry within two weeks.

On Tuesday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress general secretary of UP East, disproved the arguments dealing with Rahul Gandhi's nationality and termed the issue as "baseless", saying that the entire country knows that he was born in India. "Entire country knows that Rahul Gandhi is an Indian. He was born in front of them. He was raised in front of them. He grew up in front of them. Everyone knows about this. What nonsense is this?", she said.
