Rajamahendravaram: Department of Management Studies of Adikavi Nannaya University (ANUR) has conducted a state-level Commerce Fest, Commercio-2k17 (first edition) for the M Com and B Com final year students in the campus here on Thursday.

Inaugurating the Fest, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) general manager of finance, Ramesh Mehatha said that the event would immensely benefit students. The event would expose them to accounting and business organisational practices and hone their effective business skills.

He advised the university management to conduct fests that would help students to enhance their knowledge.

Academic affairs dean, Prof S Teki said, “An effective financial analysis at the appropriate time would make students into professionals in finance and accounting. Simulated practical learning in commerce would help the commerce students face challenges in their real life effectively.”

ANUR Executive Council member, Dr B Suvarna Kumar said the fests would inculcate the habit of learning among the students and that is similar to practicals in a laboratory for commerce students.

About 1,500 commerce students from the two Godavari districts took part in the programme. Prof P Suresh Varma, Dr M Ramesh, G Rajendra Prasad, Dr APS Valli, Joy Alice and others were present at the event.
