Anantapuramu: Agitation for Samaikyandhra was going on unabated in Anantapuramu district. The supporters of Samaikyandhra took out rallies and staged protests chanting slogans in support of unified State. Similarly, relay fasts of employees and teachers were going on for the past 30 days. Women took out a massive rally under the aegis of JACTO here on Friday.
Teachers under the auspices of Joint Action Committee formed a human chain and raised slogans in favour of united State. The supporters of Samaikyandhra said in unison that they are ready to sacrifice their lives to keep the State united. They demanded the Seemandhra public representatives to tender resignations for keeping the State united.
The YSRCP leaders and workers organised jail bharo by surrendering voluntarily at local police station. Later, they raised slogans in favour of unified State by squatting in front of the police station. Rayadurgam MLA Kapu Ramachandra Reddy said that it was unfortunate that there was no response from the Central government when the people belonging to both the regions coming on to the streets in large numbers in support of united State.
He demanded the UPA government to make a statement before the people lose their patience. He appealed to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu to take back the letter given to the Centre favouring bifurcation. He called upon the people in Seemandhra to boycott Chandrababu Naidu’s visit in the region till he says ‘Jai Samaikyandhra’.
