Vijayawada: Man jumps into canal with 2 sons

Mother-in-Law also pushed, but survives

Vijayawada: A man and his two sons died after they allegedly attempted suicide by jumping into a canal near Ibrhimpatnam in Krishna district on Thursday following a family dispute. Local residents saved an old woman. The victims were identified as Hanuman Prasad, a lorry driver of Jujjur in Veerulapadu mandal, Siva Bargav and Gopichand. Prasad had been having problems with his wife Srilakshmi. Her mother, Pushpavati, was staying with the family. Prasad brought his two sons and Pushpavati to the canal and pushed them into the water. She was saved by passers-by. However, Srilakshmi claimed that Prasad and two sons had committed suicide because of a family dispute.
