Vijayawada: The All India Democratic Women Association (AIDWA) here on Saturday, appealed to the State government to withdraw the GO issued removing the Anganwadi teachers and workers.

The AIDWA State president B Prabhavati and general secretary D Ramadevi, took strong exception to the government issuing orders removing the services of the teachers and workers who participated in a protest. They said that the Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, had promised wage revision for them during his election campaign.

As the promise was not made a reality, the workers and teachers had held several protests to remind the Chief Minister of his promise. They took exception to the government’s move and demanded that the government withdraw the orders and ensure that the Anganwadi teachers and workers continued in their respective posts. They also asked the government to increase salaries for them as promised by the Chief Minister.
