Narsapuram: Hundreds of villagers objected the setting up of Godavari aqua mega food park at Tundurru village in Bhimvaram rural mandal. The villagers raised their objections at the meeting held at Narsapuram Telaga Kalyanamandapam in which Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra participated as chief guest.

The villagers raised their objections stating that they would not believe the promises of the park management with regard to the pollution of water sources in the mandals of Bhimavaram and Mogalthuru. The Aqua Park Vyatireka Porata Samithi convenor Areti Vasu and coordinator Mucharla Triumurthulu, speaking at the meeting, raised their voice on behalf of the villagers.

They said that even though 14 villages were objecting to the setting up of the park, the park management and government did not heed their request.

They alleged that the management started oppression against the villagers by using police and goons in these villages and did not stop the construction work. “We are questioning about the feasibility of the pipeline from the Park to Bay of Bengal to a stretch of 30 km. It is impracticable to construct the pipeline to a stretch of 30 km,” they stated.

They asked the Minister, MLA Bandaru Madhava Naidu and other officials as to why they did not listen to the agony of people of 14 villages.

The Minister, Kollu Ravindra , said that the government would take a decision according to the wishes of farmers and people of this area about setting up of aqua mega park. He said that after the bifurcation of the State, it was necessary to set up new industries for the development of the new State.

He said that as part of the development, only the aqua park was sanctioned in this area. However, the government would act according to the wishes of the people, he said.

MLA Bandaru Madhava Naidu also assured the villagers that the government would act according to the wishes of the people and take a decision. Sub-Collector AS Dinesh Kumar and others participated in the meeting.
