The Titan Group, partnered by leading aircraft manufacturing companies in Russia and Ukraine is all set to start the first aircraft service and manufacturing company in India at Donakonda industrial corridor in Prakasam district. 

Ongole: The Titan Group, partnered by leading aircraft manufacturing companies in Russia and Ukraine is all set to start the first aircraft service and manufacturing company in India at Donakonda industrial corridor in Prakasam district.

The board members from the partnering companies visited the proposed site on Wednesday and announced that the land acquisition may start within six months and the company would start functioning after three years.

Earlier, a top delegation of the company, which met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday, met Minister for Transport, Roads and Buildings, Siddha Raghava Rao in his office here on Wednesday.

Titan Aviation and Aerospace India Limited (TAAIL) is partnered by aircraft, spacecraft and helicopter manufacturing, servicing and training companies and research institutes like Antonov, Yuzhmash, Russian Helicopters, Motor Sich, Paton Electric Welding Institute, Ukraine Advanced Technologies Ltd, AVIA Limited and others. The Titan Group started its operations in India in 2001 and has DRDO, MIDHANI, DRDL, ISRO NFC, BHEL, DMRL, HEMRL in their clientele.

Now that Titan Group is setting up Titan Aviation and Aerospace India Limited in India it approached the State government. The company wanted about 6,000 acres of land, in which a 6-km runway should be built and the location should be near all types of transport facilities.

The government proposed a site in Donakonda industrial corridor, which was visited by the local officials of the company in the second quarter of the year. After the satisfying report from the local officials, top executives of the company met the Chief Minister to discuss the formalities and benefits for the company.

The company was offered 10 years tax holiday in 15 years time frame, duty-free capital inputs, no excise and custom duties for raw material and machinery. Expressing satisfaction, K Giri Kumar, CMD of the TAAIL said,

“We met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu yesterday and he requested us to submit the project report soon. In this proposed company at Donakonda industrial corridor, we are going to construct helicopter manufacturing, servicing and training facility.

This is first-of-its-kind in Asia and we are expecting that about 200 aircraft would be serviced per annum. With about Rs 15,000 crore investments in a phased manner, we are expecting to provide employment for 10,000 people locally.

We thank the Chief Minister for his interest and cooperation for the company.” Oleksandr Chechel, chief technical officer of the company said, “The companies partnered with TAAIL are some of the oldest aircraft manufacturing companies in Russia and Ukraine. With this company, India can also boast of manufacturing and servicing aircraft and helicopters.”
