Vijayawada: Governor E S L Narasimhan took a holy dip on Wednesday as part of Krishna Pushkaralu. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who visited Raj Bhavan during At Home hosted by the Governor on August 15 invited Narasimhan with his family to visit the city and take a holy dip.

The Governor arrived at the Punnami Ghat accompanied by Minister for Agriculture Prathipati Pulla Rao and Minister for Endowments P Manikyala Rao. He took a holy dip in the river and offered prayers to the River Krishnaveni. Impressed with the arrangements made for the pilgrims at the bathing ghats, the Governor congratulated the State government and the administration.

Later, the Governor went to the Indrakeeladri, the abode of Goddess Kanakadurga, and offered special prayers to the deity and sought her blessings for the State. Interacting with the media persons, Narasimhan said that people of Andhra Pradesh were blessed with two Pushkaralu in a span of two years,

He said that people had worshipped River Godavari last year and were worshiping River Krishna now. He expressed confidence that the two Pushkaralu would relive people of all their problems. He also said that the State would prosper in the days to come as the two Pushkaralu were conducted successfully.

Later, the Governor was closeted with the Chief Minister for about 20 minutes. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Ministers Prathipati Pulla Rao also took part in the meeting.
