Action against company, officials soon
Visakhapatnam: The district administration will take back the 11.23 acres of land that has been occupied by Hetero Drugs company, said
HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. He told reporters on Sunday that the government has proposed alienation for 73.35 acres only out of
110 acres which comes under Narasapuram, Rajaihpeta, CL Palem, Pachimittapalem and Upamaka.
He said the RDO had submitted his report in which he suggested that the land be taken back as there was no proposal for alienation of 34
acres of land in which the Hetero drug company had occupied 11.23 acres.
“Action will be taken against the management and the officials who were connived with them,” the Minister said. It will also be inquired
whether the company was actually in need of the surplus land,” he added.
Regarding providing employment to the displaced persons of the steel plant and construction of sports complex in Steel Township, he
said talks would be held with the RINL officials at a later stage as they were not available now.
On employment to displaced persons of Gangavaram Port, the Minister said that as per the assurance, the company was to provide
employment to 300 but 90 persons are yet to get employment. Since the issue is pending with the court, the government would solve the
issue by talking to both the parties.
Answering a question on Tunglam gate which has been closed by BHPV-BHEL management to the civilians, the Minister said they had
raised objections due to security problem but their plea would be examined.
He said he had asked the Collector, Praveen Kumar, and Commissioner of Police T Yoganand to resolve the issue before the Chief
Minister’s arrival on September 23.
