4 locals injured in clash between AP, Tamil Nadu fishermen

Nellore: Scuffle broke out between fishermen of AP and Tamil Nadu at Chennayapalem village in Kavali mandal on Friday. Four fishermen of the village received minor injuries in the clash between the two groups. According to sources, 3 boats from Cuddalore of Tamil Nadu have entered the AP coast close to Chennayapalem area for fishing violating local area fishing regulations.
Fishermen of the village detained the boats and personnel as their nets were damaged due to unauthorised entry of Tamil Nadu boats. Local fishermen argued with the Tamil Nadu fishermen and there was a clash between fishermen of the two States.
Fishermen who received minor injuries were shifted to Kavali area hospital for treatment. Kavali rural police received information about the incident and rushed to the spot for managing the situation. After the incident, Tamil Nadu fishermen left the sea coast with due intervention of fishermen leaders from both States.
