Vijayawada: The Prakasam Barrage received huge inflows on Friday with lashing of heavy rains in riparian. According to officials, the Prakasam Barrage is witnessing huge flood waters from the rivulets of Munneru and Paleru.
The officials of water resources department made arrangements to release water from the Prakasam Barrage from Friday night. The officials said the four gates would be lifted to release 5,500 cusecs of water.
Apart from this, the Pulichintala project is also receiving flood waters due to rainfall in upstream areas. The officials also warned the people of downstream areas of Krishna district not to venture into Krishna river.
