Anantapur : CPM central committee member V Sreenivasa Rao had a dig at the ruling TDP and BJP governments for ignoring the demands and struggles of farmers though CPM has been organising agitations in support of farmers demands for over three months.
Addressing a party meeting here on Sunday, Sreenivasa Rao revealed that the party would not only intensify protests but also work with like-minded parties and fight together.
The TDP government has not paid loan waiver dues of Rs.1,200 crores pertaining to third and fourth phases of loan waiver scheme to the farmers in the district, he said.
The CPM leader accused the Centre of betraying the farmers by going back on its promise to pay MSP to farm produce and failing to implement the recommendations of Swaminathan Commission. CPM north district secretary Ram Bhoopal and Nallappa, Savithri and Sreenivasulu also spoke.
