Hyderabad: Although the Southwest Monsoon was weak across Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Monday, rain occurred at a few places in Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Vishakhapatnam districts, with Garugubilli (Vizianagaram) recording 4 cm, according to the Met department bulletin.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the State were: Cheepurupalle (Vizianagaram), Ranastalam, Veeraghattam (both in Srikakulam), Jiyyammavalasa, Parvathipuram (both in Vizianagaram) 3 each, Therlam (Vizianagaram), Bheemunipatnam (Vishakhapatnam), Kurupam, Salur, Garividi and Pusapatirega (all in Vizianagaram) 2 each.

There was 1 cm rain each in Seethanagaram, Bondapalle, Pathapatnam, Denkada, Komarada, Araku Valley, Tekkali and Palakonda. According to the forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places in the State from July 31 to August 3.
