Ongole: The Ongole MLA, Damacharla Janardhana Rao participated in the installation of boddurayi at Swarnandhra Pattapupalem of Madanuru village in Kothapatnam mandal on Thursday.
The fishermen in the village invited the MLA to grace the important occasion as they believe that the goddess bestow them strength and luck in the fishing and protects them from evil spirits over the sea.
The priests welcomed the MLA with religious customs and blessed him all the success in future.
Janardhana Rao said that he prayed for the wellbeing of the fishermen who are his supporters for a long time and said that he will ensure all of them benefitted from the welfare schemes and programmes of the government.
The village elders thanked the MLA for making it convenient for him to come to the fishermen village and participate in their traditional programmes.
