Kurnool: District Superintendent of Police (SP) Gopinath Jetty said pleasant atmosphere in and around the school will have a positive impact on the mental and physical health condition of the students.

He advised the students to keep the school surroundings neat and clean.

As part of weeklong Police Commemoration Day, he along with his staff participated in Swachh Bharat programme and cleared the bushes at Zilla Parishad High School in Kallur on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the SP said that the Police Department has taken up several development activities with the coordination of other departments.

Around 150 government schools in the district have been provided with playing grounds, said Jetty and added that the aim of observing Police Commemoration Day was to instil confidence among the people about the police service.

He made an appeal to the people to recall the sacrifices of the police, who laid down their lives to safeguard the people and assured them of providing better policing.

The SP also interacted with school students and exhorted them to excel in studies. ASP Madhava Reddy, DSPs and police personnel were present.
