Kakinada: The Kakinada Municipal Corporation authorities as part of special sanitation drive creaked awareness to traders on utilisation of plastic materials such as carry bags and allied materials on Tuesday in view of banning of the items from October 2.
The corporation authorities planed 100 percent plastic free city from 1 January 2019.
As a part of this, awareness is being raised at various sections on plastic ban.
Municipal commissioner K Ramesh crated awareness to traders at the programme organised at municipal corporation office meeting hall on the day.
In a specific incident, the corporation authorities locked a seat covers shop in Majestic Cinema Street on Tuesday for throwing waster on road and not utilising the dust bin provided in the vicinity.
