Amaravati: The TDP will organise a public meeting, ‘Jayaho BC,’ in Rajamahendravaram on December 30. From now onwards, the party will create awareness on the welfare schemes for BCs being implemented by the TDP government for the last four-and-half years.

The mega public meeting will be organised on the lines of ‘Nara Hamara, TDP Hamara,’ a public meeting for the Muslims conducted in Guntur recently.

TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu said that the party will organise awareness meetings in all Assembly constituencies across the State for 45 days from November 16 to December 30.

During the preparatory meetings to be organised in the 175 Assembly constituencies, the party leaders will educate BCs on the opportunities given by the TDP government to the BCs in politics and efforts made for their uplift socially and financially.

Speaking at the concluding session of the two-day workshop on ‘Jayaho BC’ at Undavalli on Friday, Naidu urged the leaders to go and meet every individual in the State, even in the remote villages. The Chief Minister released ‘Jayaho BC’ posters on the occasion.

He said that the TDP was providing political opportunities to the BCs in the State and encouraging them in government also. He said that the party will utilise their services based on their abilities and every BC leader should improve leadership qualities.

Chandrababu Naidu pointed out that some of them have been working efficiently as party cadre, some are emerging as leaders and becoming MLAs, Ministers and others playing key role in strengthening party at various levels.

He said that the TDP has been playing an important role at the national level whenever the country faced political crisis and the democracy faced a threat.

When Vajpayee was Prime Minister, the then BJP offered 8 Union Cabinet berths to the TDP, but the TDP refused the posts and extended support from outside, Naidu pointed out.

Naidu said that he even refused the prestigious post of the Prime Minister, though he had an opportunity. He said that he was interested in developing the united Andhra Pradesh at that time and hence remained in the State.

Reacting on treatment meted out to Andhra Pradesh by the Modi-led NDA government and BJP, the Chief Minister said that they betrayed the State by promising that they would accord Special Category Status during the last general elections.

“Narendra Modi has been taking unilateral measures and damaging the federal spirit, misusing Central government institutions for political vendetta and democracy at stake in his rule,” Naidu said.

He said that the TDP took an initiative to save nation and save democracy and the entire nation has been extending support to the initiative.
