Tirupati: The Tirumala temple dazzled on Thursday in the light of Karthika Deepam observed by TTD following the age-old temple practice. After offering Maha Harathi to the presiding deity by the priests on the special occasion, the lighting of the earthen lamps began from Garbhalayam (sanctum sanctorum) to Ramulavari meda (also in the Sanidhi) to Mahamani mandapam and later covering all the sub-temples, all the mandapams inside the shrine and outside also covering the prakarams, Sri Varahaswamy temple and Sri Bedi Anjaneyaswamy temple.

The priests, temple officials and staff joined in the lighting of lamps which began after 6 pm and completed at 8.30 pm. The shrine glowed in the row of lights lit on the occasion of auspicious Karthika Deepotsavam adding more to the glitter of the famed temple.

TTD senior officials including Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal, Joint Executive Officer KS Srinivasa Raju and others were among those participated in the Karthika Deepotsavam.

Speaking on the occasion, Singhal said Karthika Deepotsvam fete was observed enthusiastically in the holy Karthika month. Seeking the blessings of God to all people, Singhal wished that the festival will brighten the lives of all the devotees.
