District Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy has directed the revenue and other department officials of all 11 coastal mandals to maintain strict vigil in the wake of cyclone Phethai alert issued by the Meteorological Department
Srikakulam: District Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy has directed the revenue and other department officials of all 11 coastal mandals to maintain strict vigil in the wake of cyclone Phethai alert issued by the Meteorological Department.
He directed civil supplies officials to store essential goods including fuel to face any eventuality due to cyclone. He convened a meeting with agriculture department officials to create awareness among paddy farmers to postpone their harvesting works for two days due to cyclone threat.
All the village level government staff of coastal areas were asked to create awareness among fishermen and asked them not to venture into the sea.
Official communication was also forwarded to village level public representatives and staff regarding Phethai cyclone.
The Collector also directed the officials to open cyclone relief centres in coastal areas to vacate people from low-lying areas.
