TDP president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu warned that law of land would take its course automatically if anyone crosses line in criticising political opponents online

Amaravati: TDP president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu warned that law of land would take its course automatically if anyone crosses line in criticising political opponents online. He made these remarks during a teleconference with party leaders on Thursday in reference to the complaint by YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila to Hyderabad police over alleged calumny against her in social media.

He described Sharmila’s complaint against TDP leaders “unfortunate”. Naidu said that it was YSRCP which had been misusing the social media in the state posting abusive content and launching smear campaign against individual leaders on social media. “Jagan followers carried negative propaganda against CBI former joint director V Lakshminarayana when he was probing Jagan’s scams.

They created hurdles in investigation of the case by using social media as a tool. They even dared to spread false propaganda against judges also,” Naidu said. The Chief Minister also referred to “abusive and illegal content” being posted by YSRCP supporters against Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan’s personal life, particularly his marriages.

“They posted abusive and offensive content against the TDP women leaders. They even carried out propaganda against even my family,” observed Naidu. Stating that he would not allow anybody to misuse the social media in the state, the TDP chief said action would be taken against the accused persons irrespective of their political affiliation in case of such violations of decency.
