Vijayawada: The APSRTC trade unions’ JAC withdrew the proposed strike from February 6 after talks with Transport Minister K Atchannaidu on Tuesday. The minister agreed to give 25 per cent salary hike and assured to consider other demands.

The JAC leaders demanded 50 per cent pay hike and implementation of other service rules at par with other government employees. The JAC leaders earlier announced that they would go for indefinite strike from February 6 if their demands were not met by the RTC management and the state government.

After the talks with the minister, the leaders said the minister had assured them of waiving loans, sanction of more grants to strengthen the RTC, slashing or scrapping pf sales tax on purchases by RTC and other demands like regularisation of services of staff.
