Amaravati: Chief Secretary Anil Chandra Punetha said that the unemployed youth who got registered under Yuva Nestam will be given training in skill development. Addressing a review meeting with the officials at the Secretariat here on Wednesday, he directed the officials to take steps to provide training to the youth.
Principal Secretary of the Social Welfare department SS Ravath informed at the meeting that 4,46,834 youth got registered under Yuva Nestam programme and they were paid Rs 155 crore as unemployment dole so far.
Ravath also said that 40, 941 have completed skill training in various courses and 6,000 more are undergoing training. The Chief Secretary instructed the officials to hold meetings with the industry to provide jobs to the skilled youth. Finance Secretary Piyush Kumar said that the unemployment dole would be increased to Rs 2,000 from March 1.
