Eluru: District Revenue Officer N Satyanarayana has said that the police will play a crucial role in the conduct of ensuing elections.
He was chief guest at a meeting organised to coincide with election training classes to the police personnel here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Satyanarayana said that the police machinery would be imparted training in various aspects including e-vigil operation, e-voter and new Suvidha.
The police force along with revenue machinery should ensure better coordination among people, government employees and political parties. The excise department should concentrate on areas where influence of alcohol is high.
The DRO called upon the police officials to impart training to the police personnel to suit EC guidelines.
About 250 police staff attended the training classes. Special branch and other police officials were present.
