Bapatla: ZP chief executive officer P Surya Prakash urged the youth to draw inspiration from freedom-fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy who was like Veera Pandya Katta Bomman of South Tamil Nadu.

He reminded that Reddy, who had 66 villages under his control and an army of 2000 men, could not brook the atrocities committed by the corrupt officials of East India Company.

Uyyalawada's 172nd death anniversary was celebrated on Friday under the aegis of Forum For Better Bapatla.

His photo was garlanded, and rich tributes were paid to the great leader. First Education Minister of India Moulana Abul Kalam Azad's 61st death anniversary was also celebrated. His photo is also garlanded.

Forum secretary P C Sai Babu, Municipal Commissioner G Sravan Kumar, JN Philips and others participated.
