Launch is expected to take place in the month of August 2016.Both external and internal updates are expected to be seen on the new Skoda Rapid facelift as it gears up for launch in India later this year. Being the first major update ever since Skoda Rapid was launched in 2011, Skoda Auto India Private Limited has started actively testing the midsized sedan.

The 2016 Skoda Rapid facelift spied on test was noted with external updates. Though the updates were cleverly camouflaged, changes were evident. It includes a new front bumper, new headlights, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and revised grille design.

A new bonnet and fenders were also seen while the facelift follows the Skoda current design language as is also seen on board the Octavia, Yeti and Superb in India. Side and rear profiles remain untouched while at the rear a restyled boot lid, redesigned tail lamps and rear bumper were noted.

Interiors of the Skoda Rapid facelift could also receive some restyling and added onboard equipment while there could be no changes in engine specifications. The new Skoda Rapid facelift will continue with the same set of engine and transmission options.

These include 1.6 liter petrol engine generating 105 PS and 153 Nm along with a 1.5 liter TDI diesel generating 105 PS and 250 Nm. Both engines are mated to five speed MT. You can also opt for a 6 speed AT with petrol engine or a 7 speed DSG with the diesel engine.
