Gold jewellery worth Rs 27 lakh recoveredA goldTirupati: The special team of Tirupati Urban Police arrested two members of robbers' gang from Maharashtra and recovered 900 grams of stolen jewellery worth Rs 27 lakh and cash Rs two lakh from their possession. Speaking to media persons here on Friday, SV Rajasekhara Babu, the Urban Superintendent of Police, said that the duo was identified as Kalicharan and Narasimha Goud, who were involved in several crimes since three years. The two were professional offenders and with a special strategy, the crime police led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Narsimha Reddy and Police Inspectors of Alipiri and Tiruchanur Rajasekhar and Sainath arrested them at the auditorium in Government Ruia Hospital on Friday, he said.
Advanced mobiles for beat constables
To put a check on beat constables and patrolling police personnel, the Urban Superintendent of Police introduced a new system to monitor their movements round-the-clock. On many occasions, the control room staff is facing many difficulties in finding the exact location of beat staff and to coordinate with them as per their needs. Hence, specialised mobile phones were introduced using advanced technology for tracking the movements and keeping 'on-line' vigil on the staff, the Superintendent of Police said. He distributed 31 mobile phones to beat constables, which will be monitored by control room staff, round-the-clock so as to guide and instruct them according to the needs, he added. These phones would help not only to the track the movements of staff, but also to find the exact location and performance while on beat duty, he explained.
