A senior official in the treasury suffered heart stroke when the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught him red-handed while accepting bribe here on Thursday. According to details, a retired headmaster Pantangi Venkateswarlu has been making rounds to the treasury for the last eight months to claim his pending medical bills. 

Khammam: A senior official in the treasury suffered heart stroke when the Ant-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught him red-handed while accepting bribe here on Thursday. According to details, a retired headmaster Pantangi Venkateswarlu has been making rounds to the treasury for the last eight months to claim his pending medical bills.

It’s alleged that the Treasury Senior Accountant Thota Srinivas demanded Rs 3,500 from the retired headmaster to release the medical bill cheque. In this backdrop, Venkateswarlu approached the ACB officials. As per the trap laid by the ACB sleuths, he approached the senior accountant and handed over the cash to him.

Seeing the ACB officials, Srinivas suffered a stroke and was collapsed. He was immediately rushed to government hospital and his condition was said to be stable.
